Hua Hin, Thailand, 20 June 2017 — Golfers have been quick to rate the fourth annual Centara World Masters Golf Championship hosted in Hua Hin as the best organized event ever. Returning to the tournament for the 4th time, Karen Chenoweth, stated that the tournament organization is brilliant and she will come again for the 5th time next year.

At 53 years of age, Karen is a member of Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide, South Australia and plays off a handicap of 15. She scored 131 points for the 4 rounds of this stableford competition and finished in fourth place in the ladies 35 – 59 A grade division.

“This is our fourth year at the Centara World Masters. We have to thank Golfasian and Go Golfing Australia for putting on such a wonderful event again. We just love coming back here. The caddies are wonderful. The organization is brilliant. The accommodation is first class and I would recommend anybody to come to Thailand and have the most enjoyable week they can possibly have” said Karen.

Karen and her husband Gary Chenoweth both have joined the Centara World Masters tournament every year and are very impressed with the way the tournament has been organized. The appreciation for this incredible experience has brought them back to Hua Hin each year and they will come back again for Centara World Masters 2018!

The Centara World Masters Golf Championship is a week-long celebration of golf, social and entertainment events in the popular seaside resort town of Hua Hin in Thailand. The event is open to all male and female golfers over the age of 35.

Hua Hin, about 2.5 hours south of Bangkok, was awarded Asia’s Best Golf Destination in 2014 and serves up a winning combination for tournament participants. The field has been reduced from 430 golfers to a capacity of just 380 this year which had led to more personalized service to each golfer. 99% of golfers who participated in this year event are very happy with the organization.

Golfers played 2 rounds at the two best golf courses in Hua Hin, Black Mountain Golf Club and Banyan Golf Club. While carts and caddies are included at all courses, each player has a caddy wearing a bib with their name and country flag.

Centara Hotels & Resorts is the major sponsor and have confirmed their involvement through to 2019. Most golfers stay at the ideally located Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin. Established in the 1920’s, the resort has modern luxuries while retaining its bygone age of elegance. Taking full advantage of Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin’s beachfront location, the opening night welcome dinner and gala presentation dinners are hosted around the resort pool with the beach and ocean as a stunning backdrop. Golfers gather each night during the tournament for 19th Hole festivities where tempting Thai cuisine and Chang beer flows and daily golf winners are celebrated.

Over THB 200,000 worth of donations have been generated by the players for the Jungle Aid, a charity providing a better future for displaced Thai children in remote communities.

Golf and lucky draw prizes worth over US$30,000 have been won. Big winners were Sue Hutton from Australia who won a return trip to the 2017 Centara Masters and Carollyn Susan Davey also from Australia who won at trip to the Ladbrokes World Masters on the Gold Coast in Australia.

Ms. Amporn Yaemsamran from Kalgoorie shot ‘A Hole in One’ on the 4th at Banyan with her 7 iron.

The Tournament is played in 15 divisions based on age and handicap. Golfers play each day with competitors of a similar age and handicap. Visit www.thailandworldmasters.com to view the official results.

The Centara World Masters is co-hosted by Australian-based Go Golfing and Golfasian who look after more golfers in Thailand than any other tour operator. The seamless co-ordination of flights, accommodation, transfers and event logistics for nearly 400 golfers is among the event’s notable achievements. In addition to Centara Hotels and Resorts, reputable companies including TaylorMade, Coca-Cola, Chang, Sansara and the Tourism Authority of Thailand are proudly contributing to the ongoing success of the tournament.
